Fayyaz Ismail is a Lawyer by profession and was the former Minister of Economic Development of Maldives with the mandate of trade, investment and labour. Prior to his appointment as the Minister of Economic Development, Fayyaz was a Member of Parliament for L. Gan constituency for the 18th Peoples Majlis. Fayyaz has over 18 years of experience in legal practice, initially as an Attorney at Law in Shah Hussain and Co Barristers and Attorney’s, before starting his own legal practice as Aequitas Legal Consultants LLP.
