On this International Youth Day,
the MDP Youth Wing expresses profound concern and disappointment over the government’s ongoing neglect of critical youth issues. Today, as we celebrate the vitality and potential of our younger generation, it is disheartening to acknowledge the persistent lack of effective policies and support systems that address the needs of the cornerstone of our nation’s future.
The current administration pledges to protect the employment opportunities for youth, but we must note a significant gap between the promises made and the reality faced by many young people today. The government continues to fire hundreds of employees from SOEs while political appointees earn their salaries sitting at home.
This International Youth Day’s focus is on Leadership for Safe and Inclusive Digital Spaces, and at a time when cyberbullying has become the norm, and the spread of misinformation and disinformation has become widespread, it is our collective responsibility to make our cyberspace disinformation-free and to stop the spread of it. We urge authorities to actively provide wider access to information without barriers for media and citizens alike. Today’s youth are best equipped to combat such challenges with transparency in our country.
we call upon the government to take meaningful steps to rectify these situations. We demand increased investment in education and vocational training, expanded job opportunities, and accessible mental health services. The youth of our nation deserve a government that spends our taxes to support our growth and development.
Let us use this day as a reminder of our collective responsibility to advocate for and support the young people who will shape our future. It is time for action, and it is time for meaningful change. We have to step up and be the change we want to see in our country.
