MDP is thrilled to congratulate Dr. Ayesha Verrall – a dual Maldivian citizen, on her election to the parliament of New Zealand.

It is a matter of great pride that Dr. Ayesha, one of New Zealand’s top infectious disease specialists, worked with MDP during its formative years.

Further, the party also extends congratulations and well wishes to her excellency Jacinda Ardern for having been re-elected as New Zealand’s prime minister.

We hope to strengthen ties and further cooperation between Maldives and New Zealand under the renewed mandate of the Labour leadership.
