The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) condemns in the strongest terms the appalling acts of terrorism carried out in Manchester, Kabul and London recently, which left over hundred civilians dead and injured many more.

There can be no excuse for this kind of barbaric violence, aimed at innocent people. The MDP believes that violent extremism is contrary to the tenets and traditions of Islam, it does not discriminate in its hate and affects everyone, regardless of their religion and nationality.

The MDP condemns in the strongest possible terms those individuals, organisations and governments who support terrorism and export the extremist ideology that underpins it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these attacks, their families and friends, and with the the people of Manchester, Kabul and London
