On behalf of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to the people of South Africa and especially to Nelson Mandela’s bereaved family.

Words cannot express the sorrow and loss the world will suffer, at the passing of international peacemaker, the selfless leader of democracy.

He was an inspirational leader, who touched many lives. President Nelson Mandela will forever be remembered for his struggle for the good of humanity.

May he rest in peace.
